I'm thinking about buying a timex watch but wonder about the quality.. The price is right but how does it compare to say a seiko (the other watch in my price range).. Any thought?S

Both have been pretty durable in my experience. Mind you, I don't regularily beat the living hell out of my wristwatches. :p

the Timex Ironman watches are good. they are damn near indestructable. "takes a licking and keeps on ticking"

You buy a Timex for reliability and price, not for fashion. I have always owned a Timex that I wear when I'm doing yard work, swimming, biking, etc. They are pretty tough and if they get ruined no big deal because it didn't cost too much to begin with.

They run forever and are quite accurate IMHO. Until I can afford nice Swiss Watches, like a Tag Heuer or something, I'll stick with my Timexs'

I've got one of those, and it works fine for me. "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking" isn't quite right, at least in my case, because my Timex happens to be digital. ;)
