Timewarps

There was a major disturbance in the force that seems to have been caused by a new topic being removed. If you didn't see that particular new topic...well...let's just say it was obviously going to be deleted asap.

If only I could leverage this talent into something productive. :\

You could taunt those unfortunate enough to have not been blessed by the gods, thereby increasing your social standing and self-esteem. That's what I'd do anyway.

More likely they forgot to water one of the hamsters that keeps this place running.

A third server was brought on line to try and combat the load slowness issues quite a few other posters were experiencing. It likely wasn't chronologically synched at first. It's not nice to eff with Father Time.
mmmkay

Is that from a mod PM? I'm not seeing a sticky. I'm also not seeing very good load times, but my ISP is pretty terrible so that might just be it. I did notice one poster that had been warping and now isn't.

They're saying they brought a 3rd server on line...and it's not sync'd up properly. Look at the bottom of the page to see the "server time." For me, it's off by 6 hours.

Testing 1,2,3

Edit: I can post!

Last night every post I made told me I couldn't post more than once every 15 seconds, please wait 20740seconds before posting......

Several thread I managed to post on around 8:00 last night before it kicked me off suddenly suddenly showed up on page two has having beer updated at 4:00. 😵

Wow I knocked this one back to last midnight!

Behold my Powers and Despair for I am the Destroyer of Threads!

Ok let's see where this one ends up.

Edit. BAH back to the top

As a computer person: The problem is server time syncing. They're probably using getdate() when inserting a new post in SQL, which uses the local server time. The new SQL server's time is off by seconds/minutes, but only ~1/3rd of new posts go directly to it. This means that you have a 1 in 3 chance of having the timestamp on your post being incorrect. Weirdly enough, VBulletin must render the posts in a thread strictly by time and not ALWAYS render the original post first.
