Proof that internet voting should not replace research

You have to take it for what it is. It's not as if Time doesn't have their own list that they came up with without Internet votes. This list is just silliness.

No forum, just the crazed fans in Asia. He actually won this a few times already I believe.

Probably a bunch of Koreans. Just like a bunch of Colbert fans voted Colbert into the number 2 spot, and a bunch of Colbert fans voted to have a bridge in some foreign country named after him. And one year Cincinnati Reds fans voted members of the Reds to nearly every starting position on the All Star team. Just like every time someone requests the Anandtech effect to win an Internet vote, they win. Just like the people who voted Never Gonna Give You Up to be the Mets 7th inning stretch song. A large group of people who are highly motivated outweigh a larger group of unmotivated people.

Internet forums are to internet polls what old people are to elections :)

#1 surprised me (the international aspect of it) but better rain than a lot of those other people. he is really huge in Asia as you can see by how much he eclipses the #2 votes by.
