Times for P1GHz and AMD500MHz?

What kind of times do these things usually pull off?

My 1GHz did it's first WU in 8:33. The AMD hasn't finished it's first yet, but it will take about 12-13hrs it looks like. Both are running the CLI on Windows ME and 98SE. My Athlon XP 1600+ does them in 3:50, so these times seem pretty slow🙂

Depends on the system.
I had a K62 500 that did WU in about 25 hours each
I have several P3 ~1hz that do them in 5.5 to 6.5 hours

My P3 933@1000 averages 6:10/WU. For a true 1gig I would guess just a few higher than that, so your time is looking slow. Try setting the CAS latency of your RAM to 2.

There is a screensaver on the Pentium, but not on the AMD. All power saving is turned off. I can't get rid of the screen saver on the Pentium because it's not my computer and it's of their last cruise in the Caribbean.

That would be what is slowing done the P3 then. Other than that the times sound normal. If they are in the Caribbean they won't know if you turn it off for a while.😉

They have both completed their first WU's now.

Pentium 1GHz: 12.79,28.52 1.025 teriba 8:34
AMD 500MHz: 14.031,8.09 0.992 teriba 12:09

I have a PIII1Ghz at work, it does WUs in 12 hours, mainly becuase of a Powerpoint presentation running during the day. Without it, it averages in the 7hr range.
