I haven't seen it yet and I was wondering what other people (who have seen it) thought.
I'm going to see it in about 3 hours, so I'll let OT know what I thought.

My reaction:

It was marginal at best. They changed a lot from the book, Paul Walker was in his best acting form...I'd say go see it for three reasons:
1) you love Michael Crichton movies.
2) you absolutely love Paul Walker (for some bizzare reason)
3) you have absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing) better to do.
It wasn't as bad as Congo or Sphere, but it was still pretty crappy. It's definitely worth skipping.

Cliff's Notes for the Uber-Lazy:

Timeline sucked.

I saw it yesterday...it's not good at all.
I guess it's OK if you don't mind wasting the money and feel like watching a movie is better than sitting on your ass.

OMG what a horrible movie. It's an insult to the book! They basically took the beginning and conclusion of the book, stuck it together, and made it into a movie. I was disappointed, ALL the good and funny parts from the book were cut out.

I'm sorry but the book was a disgrace to Crichton's name. What a worthless piece of garbage! I laughed when I saw that some idiot decided this crappy book would make an even crappier movie. If you liked this book, you have no taste in good sci-fi books.

Okay, now that we know the movie blows goats compared to the book, let's compare the price of the book vs the price of the ticket to the theatre... and maybe do it at a $/hr comparison too... I wonder if the MPAA knows about this.

Michael Crighton is not a science fiction author (even if his books sometimes contain scifi elements); he writes in the general fiction "bestseller" genre. There's a BIG difference.
