"Off brands"? What does that mean?
The only Nvidia cards available without a partner label are (overpriced) at BestBuy, and that's only a recent development on a limited range.
Either go with the best deal you can find, or with the best extras (warranty, game, etc) if those thing matter to you.
Right on, thank you... AND...... When it was said wait until next week the price will be dropped, any idea how much it will drop, I expect it to not be too significant, like $50, but if it's just a couple dollars and a nickel, I'll grab it now..
gts450 but there about even. Go for the cheapest one ,but I would go for the 5750 it uses less power.
Lastly, I'm pretty sure I stated my MAX Total Power on my PSU was 350W, I was incorrect... It is only 300W, will that affect the graphics card, 5750, I plan on purchasing?
i'd say you'll be ok. What are the amps on the 12volt+ rail?
realistically it never even made 18 amps even when new in real real world conditions. now that it is sveral years old I can almost guarantee it probably can only produce about 12-13 amps in real world conditions. you should be okay with a 5750 since you have a low power cpu and very basic pc.18.0a

Lol I'm confused on this now... Under DV Output it has all the + and - volts listed and then the amps to the right... Then from the +5.0V/22.0A & the +3.3V/17.0A is a line that leads to some reading where it says TOTAL 160W MAX. But at the bottom in bigger font it says TOTAL MAX POWER 300W
Happy is right that it would be borderline running a 5750 in there since that psu is quite old now. in fact I had edited my comment to say you might be actually pushing it but you had already quoted me so I removed it. lolThank you. Also, I was looking at some CPUs, and their not near as expensive and some I've seen and what I thought; although, I did see an i7 for $999 :O... And, could I go more extreme if I went with an i5 or even an i3?
Thank you. Also, I was looking at some CPUs, and their not near as expensive and some I've seen and what I thought; although, I did see an i7 for $999 :O... And, could I go more extreme if I went with an i5 or even an i3?
Not with your budget.
How much money do you have to spend.?
I think we need to get back to being practical here. if you upgrade the cpu, mobo and ram then it would be silly to use the Dell case, and old non sata hard drive. you are still going to need a new psu and you will also need a new copy of Windows since that one is likely tied to your Dell. basically you will be needing an entire pc from the ground up if you want an i3/i5 cpu.Well, enough to get what we've talked about, but if I put it back I could get an i3 or i5 in a couple weeks..

what is the gpu that you have now? I see Happy talking about the 8300 but I did not see where you said that is what you actually had.
