Um, I only had to read a few posts into know you deserve the flak you're taking. You thought you broke your card and were going to scam a return but you didn't really brake it so all is well? Um, no.
I've got a BFG 6800GT and I really don't like the crappy, noisy, small, 2 fan setup but the reason I'm not replacing it is I don't want to void my lifetime warranty which is why I purchased the card in the first place.

BTW - When you *update* you should keep the original post available to read. We can all see it's updated when we see, "Edited: 10/31/2004 at 10:19 PM by jEnus". The only reason to put *update* is to note the new text.

I do have a serious question as I am reconsidering waiting to buy pci express. Not sure if processors have really got enough faster in the last 18months to warrant total rebuild.
If you buy a 6800 and enable 16 pipes, does this void your warranty - or conversely if you buy a 6800ultra or gt and need to edit (flash?) the bios does this void your warranty?
I tried to warn him 4 pages ago not even post what he was trying to do but...as you can see he got what was coming too him🙂

Eh why do people care so much, Everybody gets the point. Its un moral blah blah blah. What he chooses to do isnt going to be affected from what you people say. I agree that he should not have posted this because he doesnt need any advice just want to say some shit. I think its wrong as well. But its our soceity must have taught us this or affected us so and we are all products of it. However its what our parents have taught us and what we choose makes us different.

This is a fun thread, I don't know why it ever died, with all you blowhards. The last people who need defending are the satanic retail chains. It's not nearly enough to impact market price, and if it were, there would be policies in place to protect against it. That kind of faux moral outrage is pathetic. Exploiting the system is exactly what it is. Exploiting the system. Given the @#$%-the-consumer attitude retailers enjoy taking anyway, ESPECIALLY in the steep world of artificial paper launches, high-demand, low-supply glamer-card-price-gouging, arguments like this are ridiculous. Our costs don't go up, their profit margin goes down. THAT'S something worth fighting for.

WOOOT, GO ROLLO! That guy is crazy-da! I agree 100%. So he changed the HSF to fix the heat problem, SO WHAT, THE WARRANTY IS VOID ONCE YOU TINKER AROUND WITH THE CARD, AND I AM PRETTY SURE THE OWNER KNEW THAT. If something were wrong with the RAM, what ever happened to calling up BFG or BB and getting a RMA BEFORE thinking you're McGyver and trying to fix it yourself. I thought the reason someone would buy BFG cards is because of their beloved 24/7 support? Guess people just take advantage of a company "built for gamers".
Even if this is a small deal, small deals add up. No matter how you look at it, you're actions are despicable. Try and be honest and take responsibility in your actions. You know you came here Jenus to get help, and some sympathy to your cause well the opposite just happened. Do whatever the hell you want to do and quit wasting our time and giving bad ideas to other people about your crooked scheme.
