My system:
shuttle S52g (I think that's the one)
256 mb ram
P4 2.0
radeon 7000 (primary video)
all in wonder 128 (secondary monitor).

I'm tired of playing Call of Duty at the worst settings, and I see that I can get this:
RADEON 9600 SE 128MB 8x AGP Video Card
from the local microcenter. I was looking for opinions on this. I don't want to spend money, and something from microcenter would be better (all about instand gratification).

Any thoughts?

Would any of these be better:
RADEON 9200 128MB 8x AGP Graphics Card

Xtasy RADEON 9600SE 128MB 8x AGP Video Card

Stealth ATI RADEON 9200 256MB 8x AGP Video Card

Thanks for the help guys, I'm hoping to go down and buy something today.

I wouldn't get anything under a 9600 non-pro. The SE cards are severely crippled (64 bit memory bus vs. 128) and cost about the same.

whatever you do DON'T buy a 9600se, it has already been hailed as one of the worst cards, along with the 5600xt, and the 5200 with a 64 bit memory bus. If I were you, I would buy this card. You won't be sorry. 9600 Pro And rather than buy the card from a local retailer, I would strongly reccomend buying it from Newegg.com, they are cheaper, and have a stellar reputation. Also, consider upping your RAM to 512MB sometime, you are limiting yourself with 256MB.
:beer::)

Here are some benchmarks so you can decide for yourself how the 9600 Pro stacks up against the other cards you've selected VGA Roundup :) (If it doesn't load fast, it's because the site is being hammered by people trying to read the GeForce 6800 review)

EDIT: I'm pretty sure you are using pc2100 RAM in your system now, so take a look at this. If you have one 256MB stick in there now, you can get another 256MB stick here Newegg.com or, if you have 2 128MB sticks (Like I had awhile back) you can remove one, and add a 512MB stick Newegg.com I hope that gives you some options, because more RAM would give you a really big boost in performance.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I went ahead and ordered the RADEON 9600PRO 128M 8X that was suggested. I'll let my wallet cool off for a while, then think about upgrading the ram

Thanks again.

An excellent choice :) You're going to be very happy with that card, say goodbye to low settings! ;)

A little bit more RAM would be nice if you can afford it. I can't imagine going with only 256mb these days. :Q
