Time to replace the dying 2001fp

Basically the samething this guy: LINK is experiencing is happening to me. As you can imagine it's very annoying and there doesn't seem to be any good way to fix it. Since it's getting worse I guess it's time to seriously figure out what my next monitor is going to be. I looked at the 2007fp, but it seems to me a bit expensive now for what you get(although my 2001fp was 600 bucks). I want to keep the 1200 vertical pixels, and that leads me to 24" widescreens.

Now I'm having trouble deciding which one I should choose. Here's what I have in mind:

2408wfp: it's the cheapest, proven, and overall seems to be a solid choice

HP LP2475w: It seems to have gotten good reviews, and looks promising, but it is a touch pricey.

However I am considering the U2410. It looks promising but I'm not sure if I should try and hold out for it? I have a feeling it's going to be rather expensive, and I'd rather not spend more than I need to.

How I use my comp: 50% text/reading, 40% video watching, 10% gaming. However all are equally important aspects, and my 2001fp has pleased me for the 5 years I've owned it.

I have looked through the LCD thread, but I was wanting more localized opinions if I could get them?

I personally replaced my 2001FP with the 25.5": DoubleSight DS-265W, 1920x1200. I am happy with this monitor.

Need to know what your budget is and what you'll be using it for.

I stated what I use it for in first post.

U2410 sounds a bit expensive and wouldn't that price itself out of where the HP is? I'm assuming it's landing sometime in sept.?

As of right now, you are going to be spending a lot of money for those extra 150 vertical pixels.

The Dell 2209wa is a great value. $300 before coupons prices is unbeatable by any non-TN panel. Typical prices seems to be closer to $250.

That being said, if you really want/need the extra 150p, I'd go with the 2408wfp now, or wait and see about the U2410, depending on how long your 2001fp lasts.

I suppose it won't hurt to just wait a bit more and see about the u2410. My current one is usable, just annoying.
