Ok, I'm ready to give OC a try. I have an AMD 1.2G on an ASUS A7V133 266FSB and 256M PC133. Can someone give me some basic directions and initial settings?

Thanks!:)

If it posts, super, if it loads windows, even better. If it locks up, or crashes, up the voltage til you can stabilize it using up to 1.85v. If you can get there, and it's stable, try for some more, using more FSB. :)

Don't go there if you don't have a good HSF.

BTW, for a 1.2GHz, going to 1.4GHz is fairly common, so that is why I used a conservative example. 133MHz fsb keeps the buses in spec.

Should I be making the settings in the BIOS or with jumpers? So I want to increase the voltage from 1.4 up to 1.85 to get it stable?

I just did this. The A7V133 is MUCH more stable if you make your settings with jumpers rather than in bios.

Ok. On the jumpers I set the JEN to jumper mode, the The CPU Ex. Freq. setting to 133, and the CPU Core Bus Freq. Multiple to 10.5 and it wouldn't boot. Am I missing something? I'd like to get to ~1333MHz. I'm a dummy, please give me step by step instructions....

what did you set the voltage at?

by the way i would change the voltage with the 4 jumpers on the board, but.... leave everything else set at "jumper free" and use bios to overclock

It was set to 1.4v in the BIOS. What should be set by jumpers and what should be set in the BIOS???
