ok i was completely happy doing rc5, i never liked or wanted to do ogr. this freaking contest is killing my key rate. before all of this happend i was moving along quite nicely at 12500 rc5 blocks a day. i have now been reduced to doing less than 3000. and contrary to popular belief the proxy will still get org blocks even if it is disabled in the .ini file... you know the 80% of the keyspace that has not been returned to dnet for ogr. at least 8.5 T blocks belong to me.... why have they not released the updated linux proxy?

Add this to your ini files:

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

Adrian,

If you have machines with clients earlier than 4.60, those will take care of themselves as dnet upgrades the keyserver proxy software. If you're running pproxy on portions of your herd, upgrading to the new version will do the same thing.

I know your frustration. TA Cube has lost over 100,000 blocks so far because of the change.

Adrian, if all else fails, just set your pproxy to buffer 0 OGR blocks. That way, your clients can't get any, and will be forced to stick with RC5.:)

I cannot seem to keep my pProxy from downloading any OGR blocks also. I figure it's much easier to control the herd from the food source, instead of running around to each client and changing the .ini.

Here is the OGR section of my pproxy.ini file.
[ogr]
logfilekeyblock=pproxyogr
logfilekeyblockrotation=daily
expertmode=1
minkeysready=0
maxkeysready=0
maxkeysdone=0
contestclosed=0

This seems to be working and the last couple of connections with the RR/proxies only exchanged RC5 units and not any OGR.

But first you need to make sure that the pproxys OGR buff-in file is empty.
I owe my gratitude to both bphantom and Jator for helping me with my pproxy settings.

[Edit]What I meant to say was that "I couldn't", and not "I cannot" in my first sentence.

HeavyIron,

In proxyper.ini, under the OGR section, change both minkeysready and maxkeysready to "=0". That solved it for me.

Oops, I see you already did that. I wonder why it's not working for you. Did you remember to shut down the pproxy and re-start it, so the ini file would load after the changes?

Oops again, I see you did get it working. I should read more carefully!

I did tat along the way, but still received new units. It only seems to be working since the addition of the expertmode=1 line.

setting the org minkeys and maxkeys = 0 seems to solve the file temorarily, but as soon as a machine requests ogr blocks or a machine flushes ogr blocks the pproxy will change the .ini file to fetch ogr blocks again.

Yep, I needed that line in my RC5 section so the keyserver would let me grab 40,000 blocks. I added it to OGR just for the hell of it. Guess it was needed there, too.:)

Did you try the "expertmose=1" setting Adrian?
