The government doesn't have the right to tell people what they can do with there bodies as long as they dont hurt anyone else. Its violating there freedom.

The War On Drugs has been a massive failure and has actually increased crime and will never work.

Do you think the War On Drugs should be ended.

Why not all drugs? Legalizing only pot won't solve the bigger problem and it's unethical for the government to regulate drugs.
But they regulate cigarettes and booze, thats ok? Both are just as bad if not worse than "illegal" drugs. Oh, wait, politicians smoke and drink.

You just contradicted yourself right after you made a statment............

I think Pot, LSD, peyote, salvia, DMT, shrooms and all the psychodelics should be legal. All other drugs like crack, heroin, morphine, cocaine, BATH SALTS, and the other hard drugs should be decriminalizd.

The reason i want most hard drugs DECRIMINALIZED not legalized, is because when consumed they have the potential to make you hurt others. When im stoned I dont want to hurt anyone, but if I ever did cocaine..........who knows what i would do. I think we should be careful because we are dealing with mind and body altering substances that could lead to violence.

They also regulate prescription and over the counter drugs as well. I'll never understand why people want no regulation. No regulation (or massively fraudulent drug trials) you get drugs like Vioxx which killed thousands and possibly even hundreds of thousands.

Then I'm going to assume that you're not taking any drugs for headaches or other medical conditions, and that you never will. And you'll be content at age 40 when you suffer from a stroke or aneurysm brought on by hypertension...

Oh, wait. Maybe you mean recreational drugs. In other words, you feel that it's ok to get high from a natural substance, but not a man-made one. Why make the distinction? Would it not make more sense to look at the chemical interaction with the body and ban the ones that tend to be more harmful, regardless of origin?

It is too late to make all drugs legal, can you imagine the number of cases that would end up in court from prisoners demanding their cases be thrown out ?
I personally don't care what someone does in their own home and they are over the age of 18 as long as they don't harm anyone else, they can shoot up heroin, smoke pot, and snort cocaine all at the same time if they are foolish enough to do it and I don't think the government has the right to tell them to stop. The second they injure someone, steal for money, or commit an offense against someone, then lock them up and throw away the key.

Regulation doesn't prevent drugs like Vioxx, lawsuits do. Companies have released harmful drugs knowing it will harm people but since the income from sales will be much higher than the lawsuits they don't care, it is often figured into the cost before the drug ever hits the market.

Regulation isn't needed to insure safety of any product, the consumer will take care of that by not buying the product and using lawsuits to put the company out of business. The government doesn't police the companies anyway, most of the companies do their own internal testing with their own employees doing the test. The FDA ? LOL, they are often board members of the drug companies.

Freedom? I'll raise you two words: Seat belts.

So long as there are social safety nets, your body is bought and paid for through medical care. What happens to it costs the tax payers. Regulation of your body is not only standard practice, it's old and accepted law.

The War On Drugs has been a massive failure and has actually increased crime and will never work.

I agree with you, the war on the American people should end. Too many innocents have been slain during home invasions via the police searching for drugs. Their policies, methods, and tactics are all wrong. This country needs to reject the police state mentality of watching, assaulting, and throwing everyone in jail.

The country with the highest prison population should be ashamed of itself.
The United States has less than 5 percent of the world's population. But it has almost a quarter of the world's prisoners.

But there shouldn't be socialized medicine, the war on drugs should be ended and then make people responsible for there own healthcare. Otherwise ending the war but still allowing them to be bailed out wont work

So you think that these people are in jail for an unjust reason but we should leave them in jail because, meh, lots of paperwork? That's the most unpatriotic thing anyone has ever said ever.

Maybe some drug dealer will give your child heroine some day and they will die with an overdose. Is that what you want? This is a common technique nowadays to make new addicts. First they sell young adults MJ and then one day they say they dont have any to sell but they have something even better. They offer them a free sample. Usually after one dose they will become addicts. Then after going in and out of treatment and the emergency room they end up dead of an overdose. This is the ugly face of illegal drugs that you want to embrace. Sure we could make all drugs legal. In some countries you can walk into a drugstore and buy anythihg you want like little yellow MJ pills or morphine or bovine steroids. The problem is in the USA we test our drugs and there is more quality control. In other countries where you can buy anything there is no quality control and you never know what you are getting. Well maybe it is not quite that bad, but you know what I mean.

As an example there were recently some black market drugs on the market in south korea that were marketed as some kind of health aid drugs. However, in the pills was the dried ground up residue from babies that were left to die in death rooms in China. They just added a few herbs and what not and called it a health addative.
