So you are cool with the president of the United States being completely above the law in basically all regards?

That wasn't the ruling by SCOTUS.

The President needs immunity for his official actions. Not for all this Hyperbolic bull shit being brought up in this and the other thread where they are "discussing" it.

Do you think the President should not have any immunity for his actions?

That literally was the ruling. Giving orders to the military is an official act and therefore the president is absolutely immune for any orders he gives them. The ruling is very clear on this.

If you would like to explain how the president could be prosecuted for telling the military to assassinate his rivals I’m open to hearing it but I see no way for it to happen.

No president needs immunity for their actions. We're supposedly a country of laws that apply to everyone. Exempting the President is pants on fucking head stupid.

Alright, official action: Trump is a threat to democracy, he tried to overthrow it once, and he's stated he intends to be a dictator (regardless of your opinion as to his seriousness, he stated it). It would be an official act of the executive branch to take action on that, and imprison Trump, his rival for the seat of presidency on the next election.

Do you think he should be immune from consequence for that action, yes or no.

Not going to argue about it. The President has had limited immunity even when it isn't documented for >200 years.

I know you guys are going to wring your hands and make up fantasies about killing people, expanding the SCOTUS to 50 to 100 justices etc....

I hope you enjoy yourselves.

It wasn't documented because it wasn't presumed that the chief executive would attempt a coup. Now one has, and the judicial branch has rendered judgement that it's legal. That's a problem.

Looks like a lot of people need a few cases of Diaper Cream...
And you are pathetic ignorant asshat. Trump voter. I hope Trump locks your whole family up for reasons if he becomes King, I mean President. At this point that would be only thing you and your other magats clowns understand. You all have no idea that shitshow coming for your poor asses. You think you are on winning side being a magat? If project 2025 happens you will burn with the rest of us “woke”

Clean water. Woke. Building codes. Woke. Consumer protection. Woke. All this is going away with this Supreme Court’s insanity. If Congress doesn’t write every law for the agencies with all procedures and scenarios, they can’t be enforced per this Supreme Court, and the Kimg can disband all departments as part of his official duties with zero consequence

Pcgeek is a coward.

You guys are the ones claiming "we got him" as he continues to evade all justice. So who is getting what wrong?

Cool, got him on some hush money charges that will literally do no harm to him, will not get him into prison, and will certainly not keep him out of the WH.

Again, who is getting it wrong here? Not to mention all the "Biden is the only one who can beat Trump" nonsense when even the majority of Dem voters didn't want him to run again, and that was BEFORE his debate debacle.

When Biden loses, and all the exit polls scream about his age and cognitive decline, I'm sure you'll find a way to spin that too.

I noticed you're not disputing what I said about Biden, also acting like we've had coups declared legal before. This is uncharted territory, no one is denying that.

Well, Biden destroyed Trump the last time and you still care more about polls than you do elections results. You've been playing your doom and gloom card here for years. If you're irritated at people finding your credibility lacking and want someone to blame for it, go find a mirror.

No, I think the president should have to follow the law in both unofficial and official actions. There is a massive difference in wide leeway around official actions and straight up immunity. Immunity means the president can do whatever they want as long as it is at least tangentally official.
