Here in the Netherlands euthanasia is permitted for people who are terminally ill. I fully agree with this.
How can one possible force someone to stay alive if all what that person will experience is a slow, painful death? I can hardly imagine anything more cruel than being forced to live the last months or years of your life with each day filled with pain.
So yes, when someone is terminally ill and there's no chance this person's condition will improve, that person must be able to choose to end his or her life.
