Hey guys.... Need to purchase a new A/C in the next few weeks. Would like to get some opinions from people about brands they are very familiar with, known widely, etc. Needs to be between 10,000 and 15,000btu and 120v (not 240). Anyone know how Haier or Amana hold up? Thanks for your input. (I searched first and found nothing similar to this, so I hope this isn't a repost)

EDIT** I'm looking for Window Units**

I have always purchased Carrier and Trane and had good luck but I have not had personal experience with the models you are looking at. The higher rated furnaces will set you back a good bit of money but if it's a package unit then in the 80's is going to be normal. Split units can get very efficient but also get expensive. If heating is your main concern I would consider a duel fuel model.

You may want to read up on some of the HVAC boards

Last time I looked into it Kenmore (Sears Brand) got great review, and they are fairly inexpensive. I got a 12K BTU model and it does a very good job of cooling a big room.

Thanks for the input. I'll check into those some more. Anyone else got any advice?
