I've been watching craigslist for about 6 months now. I give up.

I am buying new.

Dicks has a rack for $250 but at that price I'd almost fear for my life. Thing looks solid but I don't really trust it's construction from looking at it (it's assembled in store).

Required:
All I really want is something with 2" spacing or better throughout the bench range and something that i know I can trust. I want it to have a pull up bar.

Pluses:
If I can do things like add a dip station later, that is a plus.
Desire to buy online with minimal shipping costs.

Budget:
$800 shipped

Bench:
I want a good incline/decline bench that goes to near vertical. Something rigid and strong.

The only issue is that our house is on the market. The current basement has lower ceilings. Maybe 7'. I'd expect our next home to have 8' ceilings. So, I have to be careful of height. Or I just wait till this place sells. Want to start research now though.

I found a Parabody 843 rack on craigslist a couple of months ago. I paid $225 for it. The hole spacing is 2" and it's very sturdy.

If you're able to do it without getting forcibly removed from the store, hang from the rack and shake around a bunch. It shouldn't wobble much. If you're able to find some brand information and/or a link, post it here and I'm sure you'll get some opinions. Some will be more educated and experienced than others.

If you find a rack that you really like and the price is right, there's nothing wrong with having it waiting in your basement, disassembled. You have the rest of your life to lift weights. A few months won't kill you.

Good luck!

Some guy who lives in my town has a bunch of Yukon fitness stuff for sale but won't break it apart. Wants to sell everything. Thing is, I don't care to have specialty type equipment.

I just want the rack and bench. There are about 4 other things he is packaging together for $1500. One item I think is a sled.
