So I'm trying to figure out an optimum strategy. So far I'm running 50% and resting 50% which seems to give the best times. I find that pressing 't' or 'n' gives me the best rests. But that might just be me. Any better methods?

I find that hitting the TURBO button on my 386 works wonders!

Try spending an hour resting every few feet or so - it will speed you up considerably. You have to hold R the whole time you are resting though.

if you hold down 'm' long enough a detailed mini-map shows up. It allows you to navigate the fastest route. hth
