Okay here's the deal... I visit Slashdot and Neowin during work hours -- it's okay with my boss because they are tech sites and I only do it on downtime.
Lately however, and I don't know if it's coincidental, my boss told me I have to stop surfing when I have downtime. So now when I go to Neowin and Slashdot, I get timed out every time trying to visit them.
However, the easiest method would be to use our Websense software to block the site and then it's a given that I'm blocked. However, I'm not blocked on Websense, but rather timing out.
I switch to the DSL connection (we have it for outside consultants -- we don't want them on our network) and I can visit every site fine. It makes me think that my boss somehow disabled the site but is playing dumb. Question is, where would it get disabled that it times out? If it was blocked at the firewall level, I'd know about it because I'd see the error message. If it was blocked at Websense, I'd get an error about it. But it's timing out -- and yet will still work on the DSL connection.
Any ideas guys? Much appreciated. I hate nazi bosses
