Time off to Vote

Maybe this is coming a bit late, but I read in another thread Techs stating that you can be fired etc and that no laws protect a voter's right to vote from their employers right to fire them for missing work.

Partially true, but here is a quick and dirty list of each state.

that's a little bit crazy.

my plans to vote before work were scuttled (almost ran over a coworker who was walking from the train station to the office while on my way from my apartment to the voting place, so I offered to give him a ride in to work with me), so after I got to work and made sure that it was slow, I was just like "hey mike (my boss), mind if I duck out for 15 minutes to go vote?" and that was about it.
