I was surprised Romney didn't get it. :(

What the hell? It's like the ad is saying "Barack is back and he's bigger, badder and blacker than before!" or something.

What an incredibly boring choice. And I'm tired of people desperately trying to still put Obama forth as this momentous figure of great gravity and importance.

He has shown himself to be nothing more than just another politician, for sale to the highest bidder, willing to lie and sell out his promises... back down at every opportunity, and of course a huge war monger just like Bush.

He is no better than Bush. Perhaps worse because so many people who could see the evils of Bush cannot see them once you wrap them up in a kinda black coating and some charisma.

Ignoring everything else you said without substance, war monger? The combat mission in Iraq ended, a timeline for troop withdrawals in Afghanistan, a shift from putting troops in harms way to using drones, avoiding conflict with Iran, avoiding involvement in the conflict in Syria and Egypt, not putting a single troop on the ground in Libya, using a small, elite team instead of mass invasion to get Bin Ladin. I don't get where you get war monger from. Seems like he's been tempered with how he's gone about handling conflicts during his Presidency.

the combat mission in Iraq ended despite Obama's desires to keep boots on the ground, not because of some kind of commitment to ending the war.

I could see it in 2008, they could have picked someone better for 2012

This is awesome because I know it is killing the Republicans on here. :D

Really Dave, you think it is "killing" conservatives that Time went with an unsurprising and boring choice?

I think there are far more pressing issues to concern oneself with than person of the year with everything going on.

It's probably "killing" some conservatives. But that won't last long.

When I saw the selection of President Bush a few years backI was disgusted but eh, it's a magazine.

Most people will forget about it by the end of the day.

Interesting how sensitive the right is about being ridiculed when they left reason so far behind they've become a danger and threat to the nation. "I demand to live in my altered reality bubble, shit on my country, and take no flack for it."

You bastards have all the evidence you need that you are mentally defective but you continue to pretend that your moral beliefs are anything but a pile of horse shit. A collective of lunatic bigots should get no respect. You are factually disgusting because he who projects his own disgust gets filthed by it.

I thought it was lame he was on the list twice, seemed very unoriginal. Then I looked through the list of prior winners and notice how many people made it twice.

FDR
Stalin
Dwight D. Eisenhower
George Marshall
Harry S. Truman
Lyndon B. Johnson
Nixon
Ronald Reagan
Mikhail Gorbachev
Bill Clinton
George W. Bush

There really weren't that many stand-out people this year. I suppose Obama is as good of a choice as any but I can't think of any major accomplishments or stand out things he's accomplished in 2012. Killing Osama, ACA, etc happened in the past.

Truthfully, I think Nate Silver should have won, his statistical analysis of the election is unprecedented and will have untold ramifications for every national election from this day forward.

When I saw the selection of President Bush a few years backI was disgusted but eh, it's a magazine.

Curious, why were you disgusted when Bush was Time Life Man of the Year?

The Man of the year is supposed to be the most influential person of the year, either good or bad, I can see Dubya being such a person.

Heck, Hitler was the Time Life Man of the year for 1938, it wasn't because he was a good man, but because his actions had the biggest impact for that year.

Hate him or love him, Dubya did do world-changing things during his presidency.

Curious, why were you disgusted when Bush was Time Life Man of the Year?

My main issues with him were that he lowered taxes while increasing spending on two wars (only one of which was justified imo).

Further reasons are detailed in Kurt Eichenwalds book 500 Days: Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars

I understand that people who are influential seems to be the only criteria but I would personally not have put either Bush or Hitler on PotY covers.

As for Obama I agree with more of his positions so I am biased. However you mentioned Nate Silver and I can see the arguments for him as PotY.

There's a reason why the Rightists love me in here and I just don't like to disappoint them. ;)

We don't hate you, son. We laugh at you and pity you. But we hold you up as a prime example of the failure of liberalism. You serve as a great object lesson of philosophical failure. God bless you and Merry Christmas.

Beating down the Republicans when they spent the most ever to try and buy the Presidency?

That was quite an accomplishment.

And Ausm's even less intelligent little brother speaks. Obama bought the presidency. All politicians at that level buy the office. All you have to do is see where the money went after Obama got elected in 2008. And the same will happen again.

The person of the year isn't an award. It's given to someone that makes a significant impact, for good or ill.

Rather than have Obama twice I'd have picked Morsi.

A Democrat and Republican were walking along one bright sunny day when the Republican, dumb as they are, looked up and stated "It sure is a beautiful green sky."

Amazed at how stupid the Republican could be, the Democrat laughed and said "What's wrong with you? Anybody can plainly see the sky is red!"

Democrats and Republicans deserve each other. I hope you all kill each other someday so the rest of us can live in peace.

Except he went in there with no declaration of war and the US wasn't under threat. How do you think they got the information on the targets in Libya?

Not into killing. I'd just prefer they all move out of the US and let us enjoy this lovely country in peace.
