its a time lapse movie of A dude driving from L.A. to New York in just a few days

That's probably why the video is better than the band.

Michel Gondry is an excellent music video director. Also, recently directed Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

ah yeah, I checked their site, it was directed by Michel and Oliver Gondry

so, I was looking here http://www.director-file.com/gondry/Dxlviii.html and it says

"The video consists of digitally fast forwarded time lapse 16mm photography shot from a rig set up in the back seat. The entire seven-day journey, shot at one frame per second of driving (one frame per 10 seconds at night) is compressed into less than four minutes."

so, I guess it IS the whole thing
