Can you guys 1hand a note? I'm sitting on the shitter right now, holding phone with right hand and typing with right hand. Is that feasible on a note?

wow...

that makes things a lot harder. Lumia 1020, back in the mix.

I want that phone so badly. Must resist...

If the 1520 was out, I would say that's another good phone to consider. 1080p, 6", 20-MP. Supposedly launching on the 26th.

Yes I could, thanks to swipe style typing. You can even enable one handed options that shrink the keyboard slightly and move it to the right or left so it's even easier to type one handed.

I really, really, REALLY hope MS's acquisition of Nokia's Lumia line works out.

If MS could really throw some effort at WP and fix just a few nagging things and really get some app development going I would really love to switch.

The camera on the L1020 almost did it for me just on it's own. I'm giving WP another year to simmer.

And once you get used to a phablet sized screen, its really hard to go back. Using a 4.7" gnexus right now after my note 1 died and it feels so cramped.

If you want crazy battery life Verizon has the Droid Maxx. Note 3 will also have extremely good battery life. No idea about VZW's Mumbai compatibility.

I picked up my s4 last friday, and so far the battery life is far better than what i was getting with the s2 skyrocket. I took the phone off the charger yesterday morning and now over 36 hours later its still about 55% charged. I haven't used it a ton during that time, but I have done the basic stuff.

MS has slowly been inching WP towards something I'd recommend to a friend. Based on the recent leaks the next couple of updates (GDR3 and 8.1) look good. Although it'll be at least 6 months before 8.1 is out. As always they need more developer support.

Buying and selling new iPhones is a great use of that subsidy. I did it all the time to not only get the phone I want, but pocket the extra money that some fool was gladly willing to pay me.

How do I go about it? I know the contract is bound by the phone #'s, but can I just sell it with no worry?

When I had Verizon I would go to a store, do the upgrade to get the iPhone. Then when I had found a buyer, they take the phone and until I got a new phone Verizon just assumed I still had that iPhone.

I'm getting tempted to do this with two upgrades coming up on my Sprint account.. that's a lot of dough to be had.. but then again, two more years with Sprint??! hmmm

I'm trying to imagine a situation where it's worth committing to two years with Sprint.

Nope..I've got nothing.

Honestly, I haven't had too many issues with Sprint.. there's plenty of 4G in the DC metro area.. although the other user on my account has experienced plenty of signal loss while commuting to MD. They gave me a free Airavana for my house.. unlimited data is nice. 3G speed does suck monkeyballs, though. :p

To OP: back on topic...I would reconsider S4, I doubt even when the new Note 3 comes out it will pull any significant amount of buyers from the S4. Galaxy devices are pretty developer-friendly, meaning it wouldn't that difficult to customize it to your liking.

I think 8.1 and next years 1020 successor will be the turning point.

At least, that's what I'm hoping.

As long as you don't report it stolen, they'll be able to simply pop their SIM in to it and everything will be fine. Just keep your SIM and pop it in to the phone you're keeping and it will automatically reprogram the MEID of the CDMA side so you can make voice calls but, in my experience, this takes about 20-30 minutes and a reboot.

This is assuming, of course, that the person you're selling it to is coming from a LTE phone and that you currently have an LTE phone you're going to be using instead of the new iPhone.

T-Mobile is pretty darn good in the DC/MD/Northern VA area. Plus no contracts, and GSM phones.

Yeah, the DC market seems to be one that TMobile prioritizes. I know some people there and they say it's pretty excellent.

Yep I get LTE all the way out to Fairfax, VA. It's really improved since they first launched it here.

s4 isn't even in the running. I hate galaxy devices.

...it's got Wacom style stylus implementation. It's the only reason I want a note. Take that away and I don't want a note anymore.

I get that. But if you hate Galaxy devices then wouldn't that mean you'd hate everything about the Note aside from the stylus? Why would you buy a phone you don't entirely like?

Because note has a monopoly on phones with stylus'. And I want a freaking stylus. Thus is my dilemma.

Which brings me to one of my other posts - if I pull the trigger on a surface pro later, that's got a stylus so I don't need one on my phone. And if that's the case, note is out of consideration and we're back to Nokia 1020 vs iPhone 5s.

This is unfortunately true. :(

If it's between a L1020 and a iPhone 5S, then I think you just have to decide what's more important. Ecosystem or Camera?
