Time for Star Trek to branch out to another species!

I am getting sick of the same rehashed plot on Enterprise already. Land on planet (be it crash, kidnapped, hypnotized) make daring escape. Blah. this was old when the ST:TNG did it! What I am thinking would revive some interest is set the new ST tv series in another species sphere of living! The Klingons are the most interesting, and it would appeal to the action oriented. I could see a pitch for the Romulans or Cardassians. Everything would be totally new and good to build into the current Star Trek mythology.

Sorry if any of this offends the official Trekkie timeline I am not hardcore about this stuff.

I want a whole new series of Star Trek that has a bunch more parallels... like a bunch of different recurring crews, ships, and parts..

Like, one might be on Earth about the admirals.. Then another might be about some other Federation colony.. Then another scout ship.. Then a galaxy class ship. Every new episode would go to a different crew in action with most crews and parts returning. That way, you can keep all the actors from the other series who want to remain while getting rid of the actors that want to be finished with Trek.

Having an episode about a Ferengi crew from their perspective or something like that would fit perfectly with MY idea.

This idea is all mine, BTW. Send me royalties!

Star Wars is not real. Star Trek is.

I think a Klingon on ST series would be cool, but it would get old kinda fast. Encounter new world... rape and pillage. Encounter new species... rape and pillage. Civil war... rape and pillage own planet. Notice a trend? 😉 Romulan's would be cool 'cause there would be a look of cloak and dagger/behind the scenes scheming and manipulation. Hmmm... might be to "smart" for yer average TV watcher though... Hmmmm

As opposed to past/current trends, which is:
Tactical: "Captain, they're powering weapons."
Captain" "..."
Tactical: "Captain, they fired at us."
Captain: "Hail them."
Tactical: "Captain, our shields are down."
Captain: "Hail them again."
Tactical: "Captain, half our ship's gone and the warp core's about to breach."
Captain: "Okay, fire a warning shot."

At which point the ship in question narrowly avoids being destroyed, and the enemy ship gets away unscathed.

LOL! That's Captain Janeway right there, experiencing tremendous success in navigating the Delta Quadrant in spite of flying around in a seriously inferior underpowered and undergunned starship.

Here's a thought: I'd like to see a series take place some 5 years after Voyager returns. The Federation, if it properly uses the talents of Seven of Nine and all the various technologies Voyager had accumulated over the years, could see a scientific rennaissance and thoroughly leapfrog all local competitors, and even the Dominion, and find themselves squarely in a place to take on the Borg.

I'd like a new ST movie with the combined crews of TNG, DS9, and Voyager, one big high budget, minimal acting, special effects blowout. Finaly battle with the Borg. UP to now, we've seen at the most 3 cubes battling like 10 trillion starships. Enhance weapons and shields technology, and then have the borg finally invade for real(there have been episodes of tng and voyager where the true size and power of the borg become apparent, hundreds and thousands of cubes in some distant corner). i'd pay 9 bucks to watch cubes and starships blow the fvck out of each other for an hour straight.

Id love to see that.... and get the people who did star trek: ds9 battles. The best space battles Ive ever seen (yes even better than star wars, which really isnt that good)

Voyager did a far better job of dealing with the Borg than the rest of the ST franchise. Not only do you see cubes, but you see spheres, probes, transwarp coils, and a "transwarp nexus".. Hell, you even see "Species 8472" destroy a Borg planet..

I was thinking more like "that's Captain Picard." I didn't think Janeway took nearly as much crap from anyone before opening fire and disabling the attacking ship. Picard would let the Enterprise get damn near nuked before he'd stop trying to hail them, or fire warning shots. A ship fires on Janeway, she shoots back and disables the ship.

That would be cool - in First Contact, they said the Borg had "begun an invasion of the Federation."
"How many ships?"
"One."
Phew, some invasion - one cube. If they really wanted Earth, fine, build up forces at one of their remaining transwarp conduit centers and send a few hundred cubes and spheres through. All starships destroyed or assimilated, Earth assimilated, Alpha Quadrant in big trouble.

haha, I always wondered that. Why doesn't the borg send more than one vessel. They can't seem to assimilate Earth with one cube...so send 2!!! The federation seems to have trouble destroying just one, so send 2 or 3 or 4. I bet the entire alpha quadrant would fall to 4 borg cubes. Heck, the dominion would fall to 4 borg cubes. Why do they only send one? Then you look in the delta quadrant, when they go to assimilate a single planet, they send like 4 cubes.

Basically, to answer the original poster's comment, everyone has a different idea as to where Enterprise should go. Some think it should create it's own little world and keep all the klingons and old races out. Quit rehashing the same stuff, you know. Others believe that it should mainly focus on how we meet all these old races and keep with the startrek timelines. It's about half and half, so that's why you see so many new races, and you still see old ones in there. The Cardassians are way out there on the edge of federation space in the 24th century. I don't think Enterprise will be going there anytime soon at warp 4. "Set a course for Cardassia. Warp 4" "yes sir. Course laid in" "Estimated time to arrival?" "30 years, 4 months, 12 days, 18 hours, 28 seconds" "Thank you. Next time, give me the ETA down to the millisecond though. I'm pretty eager to get there" "yes sir"

A story around Klingons would get old fast. How much could one take of hearing the same old "It's a good day to die", and "You have no honor" type of storylines? A Romulan series might be pretty interesting, or maybe even the Cardassians during the Cardassian-Federation wars.

I think being set around a different species would be an excellent idea...I also like the idea of the location and ship/station/planet/crew etc changing each week...you could even have people voting their favourite "team" as it were at the end of the series....they could make it more interactive if you will....

Janeway....how dare she be promoted to Admiral....she earnt that promotion for getting stranded in the delta quadrant....how the hell does that work!....Picard has been a Captain for like several decades now....

How about a series set around the "Nibarite Alliance"...they were mentioned once and I had a thought about what they would be like...sort of a giant Mercenary Collection...with ties to the Ferengi alliance...and maybe even to the Orion Syndicate....with lot's of different races.

Enterprise NX01 + Voyager seem(ed) to always get the crap kicked out of it in many episodes, it wasn't as common for the enterprise to get into that shape....hmm....maybe because it's a bigger ship....more of it to blow apart

They would probably adapt after a short while....but....they could add some seasoning and stuff and that would throw them off.......😀
