Time for Favre to retire...really

I was psyched when he came to the Jets but now it is clear why GB let him go. It has to be very disheartening for the defense to have to keep marching onto the field to clean up his mess. More interceptions than TDs this season...it's just awful. Everyone was worried that joining the Jets would spoil his legacy...more like he spoiled the Jets season. I hope he retires and the Jets pick up Cassel for next season.

I was happy to see Brett go. Not because I harbor some hatred for #4 (what Packer fan can honestly hate #4?) but because I said to myself, "If TT and McCarthy believe in Rodgers, then I think we should give this guy a look."

Say what you want about the Packers, their fault wasn't soley in Rodgers, but the defense + injuries that we couldn't recover from = 6-10. I'm excited to see what he can do now that he's got a year of experience under his belt.

But this is a thread for and about #4 retiring. He should, but we all know what he's going to do. String this along for a very long time. He's a pubhound. Magic Johnson says, "Let it go man!"

rodgers played great this year!

brett favre: 22td - 22int - 3,473yds - 81 rating (league average 84.2)
aaron rodgers: 28td - 13int - 4,038yds - 93.8rating
chad pennington: 19td - 7int - 3,653yds - 97.4 rating

seriously, jets would've been better off with pennington. miami got a nice gift by picking him up, and now they're in the playoffs. and rodgers played great this year.

favre throws too many picks. the last 5 games he threw 2 td and 9 ints.

I hate that asshole - he ended 2 teams' seasons with 1 interception...that also ended his career. Oh, and this was also his 100th loss. Good job, Favre.

AGREED! Think of all the teams in search of a solid quarterback. (maybe my Bears...not sure if Orton is the man...perhaps Cassel?)

As far as quarterback talent goes for the upcoming 2009 draft, I'm not sure its that great unless several of the underclassmen come out. This year's senior class of QB's isn't that strong which makes Cassel's stock very high. We will see what happens after Bowl Season.

if marinelli wasnt fired, i could see him playing one more year...
however, this is definately it for him.

Favre = epic fail. Who has that pic of him holding up the Broadway sign, Namath is somewhere chuckling.

The Pack didn't lose because of bonehead plays by Rodgers. They lost because their defense couldn't stop a 3 year old on a tricycle from rushing on them and their secondary was riddled with injuries all season.

Don't you worry Jets fans! Brett will have his "retirement" conference within the next month, pop some painkillers during the off-season, feel like a million bucks, and report for your home opener in '09.
