dont say that...the man had so much potential...he would own every record in the books if he didnt retire

yeah, but he would have been stuck with the Lions, and that was obviously just too masochistic, even for a football god like Sanders...

if he would have been able to escape to a good team, then maybe, but otherwise I completely understand his decision

It was such a sweet victory...

I'm a diehard Jets fan, but I was rooting for the 'Fins. Anything to keep the Patriots out. First they go 16-0 and lost the SuperBowl. Now they go 11-5 and lose the division championship. How could it be sweeter? The Jets were better off losing that game. Now they block the Pats and get a higher draft pick as well. Lose = win-win.

He better retire quietly and not have another crying retirement conference.

As a long time Packers and Favre fan, I was so happy to see Brett play his (hopefully) last game the way he did. Last throw? INT. Last Play? Got his bell rung and penalized. Run off the field to the tunnel. 100th loss. Team misses the POs. Good riddance. He should have hung his helmet up as a Packer QB and ended it there. He completely tarnished his legacy due to his own stupidity.

Definitely. He should have hung it up last year after an NFC championship game at Lambaeu Field in the snow and after that crazy season that he put up MVP like numbers. That was a perfect end for his career.

This year was the football gods coming back and dishing up a cold dish of karma for disgracing them.

I guess that's what it's come to for Jets' fans.

*What is the best way for my team to lose with a legendary quarterback, so that another team that I really hate won't make the playoffs, and we can retire with a shameful finish and lose our head coach. Oh btw, higher draft pick!*

i wanted to say some prettty mean things about him. but i cannot. hopefully his shoulder injury is severe enough to warrant a permanent retiring. he should have made a decision and stuck with it. but this is how it goes for most pro sports players. they cannot see the truth as they get older. they want to continue to live their glory days event they are way past their prime and their bodies eventually give out. Barry and Jim Brown did the right thing and left while on top. brett needs to come to the realization that he cannot continue on, he's just too old and broken down. it's too bad he had to take the punishment he did this year, because now he will be known for what he did with the jets, and not with the pack.

on a side note, if and when he does get elected to the HOF would he be able to go in as a Jet? instead of a Packer? as one last snub at the organization? i would find that terribly funny if he did.

IF he went in as a Jet it would just show how incredibly retarded he is. I don't think he is that dumb. Nobody is.

I don't disagree, but wouldn't taht be the ultimate barb at the franchise that pissed him off in the end? You're right though, noone is stupid enough to do it, but someone with balls enough just might, and I would bet if he's pissed enough come five years after his retirement he may just do that. *quickly scuttles walks away to avoid beer bottles*
