tim hortons

I've never been to a Dunkin Donuts but Tim's has really gone down hill since Wendy's bought them. They're independent again but the food isn't great, the coffee is still weak as ever, and their tea tastes like it was strained through a sweaty gym sock.

Dunkin Donuts is awful. Their coffee might be decent but I'm not really a coffee drinker. Their doughnuts are just downright awful though.

I know it's a popular pastime to hate on big chains here, so I'll just point out that Krispy Kreme and, oddly enough, 7-11, both make much better doughnuts.

KK? When there is more sugar than flour, it is not a doughnut!

Nothing pisses off the Canadians more than saying Tim Horton's sucks ... nothing.

It's like saying hockey is for pansies compared to American football.

The bagel belt is amazing. I find myself stopping during work almost every day to get one since I recently discovered them.

I do think they have gone way downhill. Because of evil Wendy's of course

I visited Hamilton, Ontario in '97 and '98, but back then Timmy's was the bomb. Just like any franchise, they do tend to lose what luster they initially had and rest on their laurels.

I think Tim's is great. Better than DD for donuts and coffee, but DD has better breakfast sandwiches.

Aroma Joe's is supposedly the best around here. I gotta give that a shot one morning.

not any more. Now they are just sugar bombs.

I had some yesterday and they're definitely not as good as I remember. Tim's doughnuts are either sugar balls (your traditional white doughnut) or have the chewy consistency of a bad bagel (chocolate dips). Obviously I'm not a fan of Tim's but they're difficult to avoid when you just need a hot drink or a quick bite. They're almost on every corner. 😱

Coffee Time used to have the best doughnuts, and they were big too. It was depressing when the one in town closed down. Used to go there all the time. We have a Country Style but I've never really gone in there. I've also encountered a fake Tim's on my travels. There's a place in Caledon, Ontario called "Eddie Shack Donuts". Used to be a quasi-chain. The last location was bought out by an Italian hot counter restaurant but they kept the doughnut shop going.

Tim Hortons is ok, but they have definitely gone down hill over the last 20 years.

BTW walnut crunch FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
