Tiki Barber > Tomlinson?

All I can say is, watch out for Larry Johnson. This guy is a monster. He has another season or two with similar games like he has the last 7, and he'll turn some heads.

He could be a 2000 yard/20+ TD a season rusher.

LT is

Whoa there. Tiki may very well be going and LT is not going yet. He needs to do what he's doing now for a long, long time.

tiki is 30, he has 49 touchdowns, he has at most 3-4 seasons left (and thats giving him a huge benefit of the doubt)

even if LT had a career ending injury, you wouldn't send him to the hall?

and i don't understand you, the title of this thread is "Tiki Barber > Tomlinson?"

your clearly stating that Tiki is better than LT

Of course not. Obviously Tomlinson has a Hall of fame future ahead of him, he's a fantastic player. But if his career ended right now, he would not be going to the hall. Being a great player does not get you in, you gotta be great for a long time.

I am a giants fan and I would trade barber + a first round pick for LT. And I doubt that SD would accept that.

it would have to probably be tiki and 2 first round picks and even then its iffy

example bo jackson, no one doubts he would have made the HOF had he not been injured but longevity is a factor.

The opposite could be said for Gale Sayers.

I don't know where this Tiki-love is coming from. No one ever said he was a bad back, but he isn't underrated. You can't compare him to the great running backs in the league, you just can't.

Still stand by that statement? 🙂

Yes, and will continue to do so. You are on all kinds of good drugs if you think Tiki is as good as a Tomlinson or Alexander type.

I'm not saying that he's better, but he can definitely be compared to any RB in the league. If you look at his stats I don't see how you can disagree.

tomlinson's been crap ever since he got injured. he says he's fine and playing normally but he's got about 150yardsm 0 tds in last 2 weeks. I did not spend my first round pick on him so he can let me down in the palyoffs. Now, he's about as valuable to me as plax burress or joey galloway.

At the beginning of the season I would have argued against Tiki as the best RB in the League. . .and I'm a Giants fan. But as this season has progressed, he has shown himself to be number one. Given the choice of one running back to play one must win game, I daresay most of the head coaches would choose Barber. He is outstanding!

Alexander, Barber, Tomlinson - I think those are clearly the three best backs in the NFL right now. Might as well just call it 1a, 1b, and 1t. 😉

What about guys like Rudi Johnson or Larry Johnson? I think they belong on that list with Alexander and Tomlinson long before Tiki does.

I disagree. Look at the numbers man. Text

Larry Johnson has only been starting in the last 7 games. If he had been the only bull in the barn the first 7 games of the season his numbers would be astounding. Remember...this was that guy that played second fiddle to Priest Holmes.

Shaun Alexander is the best back in the NFL, bar none. LT might be the most talented, but Alexander clearly has the best stats, his numbers are amazing.
