Go Boys on to Oakland. Wonder what the buttwipes at ESPN are saying now after being so Pro Yankee last night

The players are going nuts spraying champagne into the crowd and Kenny Rogers just poured some onto a cop who took it all in good fun. Jim Leyland kissed a fans ballcap. GOOOOOO TIGERS

Yankess fluke again.
They need to upgrade their rotation big time. The days of Clemens,Pettite,Mussina, and El Duque are long gone.

the best that money can buy....please.

the commentators said it best...a team that spends $70million more (or w/e the figure is) than their nearest competitor at the VERY LEAST should win the WS.

That statement assumes that the extra $70 million has been invested in the proper places. I'd say that I'm a pretty big Yankee fan, but I don't think that they've put that money into the right players at the right positions. They could have done much better than they have with respect to their off-season signings.

I'm happy for the Tigers. I always liked Jim Leyland when he managed the Pirates, and Detroit was so bad just a couple years ago so it's good to see them turn things around. Good for them that they spanked the Yanks.

Least clutch? Least clutch would entail striking out in the bottom of the ninth while down by 1 with 2 on. He's not even just the least clutch, he's the worst ever. LOL

This is just pathetic. The Yankees have choked all the of the last 6 years. They are supposed to win the World Series, not lose in the first round. It is too easy to blame on person, be it a manager, general manager or a player. It starts from the top, however.

They need good consistent pitchers, not players that are past their best years who now make a ton of money. I think Randy Johnson didn't have a good year and his game 3 start kind of defined the year. Mussina didn't even pitch like he should.

It is kind of surprising that the bats went silent. I guess it is true that good pitching beats good hitting, or in this case, beats great hitting. Jeter should win the MVP though.

I think the injuries all year round also took a toll on the team. They had so many different lineups that the players could not all play with each other for an extended period of time. Oh well. I'm sure Steinbrenner will say something, Torre will say something and the cycle will go on. Maybe they'll spend a ton of cash and aquire more players with contracts like $100 million in 4 years.

Or maybe they'll surprise me and aquire good, consistent pitching instead.
