She went to the high school where my sister-in-law graduated several years ago. IIRC, that's very near where hevnst used to live as well.
Sad story.
Sad story.
That sanctuary is for tigers that are bred in captivity by idiots that shouldn't but then are released when they're too big for their owners. NONE of the animals there are brought straight from Africa.Originally posted by: xboxist

There was no reason to kill the tiger. It shouldn't have been in the sanctuary in the first place. First you take it away from it's natural habitat. Then you have this idiot teen invade the tiger's space. When the tiger does what it would do in it's natural home, they kill the tiger. Fvck them.
I simply couldn't have said it any better.

So you're going to blame the girl for this? Blame the "owners" of the tiger, blame whoever had the stupid idea to put inexperienced young women within striking distance of a wild animal, hell blame her a little bit, but she didn't deserve to die. I'm sure she was told over and over that the animal was harmless.
And yeah, it is sad for the tiger too, but if you think an animal's life is worth a human's, I'm guessing you don't have children.

Fixed. One solid bite to the throat and you're out. I'm not saying that they always kill that quickly, but they can.Originally posted by: hypn0tik
I agree, but I don't think it'd take too long for a tiger to kill a person. Maybe 5-10 seconds?
PLEASE READ THIS:
I just heard that what happened was that she was there to get pictures taken with the tiger for her yearbook, and while she was sitting next to it, it licked her foot, she screamed like an idiot, and it went after her. So the answer is, the animal WAS tame and even LICKED her, but very understandably, it got crazy when she screamed.
So the moral of this story isn't so much "animals are too unpredictable," or "sanctuaries are bad," but "DON'T SIT NEXT TO A WILD ANIMAL THAT COULD KILL YOU IF YOU'RE AFRAID OF THEM!!!"
Yeah, I guess it could do it in 5-10 seconds but I was trying to give the humans the benefit of doubt.
Anyways, you CANNOT tame a tiger. It will alwaysl have its instincts come before any training that you give it. If it feels threatened, it will pwn you. That being said, I agree with the capitalized part.

deaths like this remind me of how owning a gun increases your odds of being shot.

Later, the tiger was asked "How did she taste?"
The tiger repled "GRRRREEEAAAAT!!!"
I feel little sorrow for people that are killed like this. People will investigate why the tiger attacked the girl. I'll tell you why: IT'S A FREAKIN' TIGER :|

Not personally, but if I were a tiger I'd probably look at her and eat her. She looks a little like a scared gazelle.

She does look kind of scary in that photo. Maybe the tiger knew she was an alien. Animals do have keen senses.
