If you watch the video, one of the zoo employees said the tiger was playing with the guy and got a little bit too excited. He let go almost instantly. The article tells a different story, but I believe the guy in the video.

What happens is these animals are so strong, even when they're playing it can be dangerous to us. The Tiger did not mean to hurt him, and is probably going to be put down because of an accident. Kind of sad. Guy is lucky to be alive though. As tempting as it is to go play with what seems like a nice tame animal, it's probably a bad idea when it's a tiger.

Yeah the injuries are proportionate to what my cat does to my hand when we're playing.

Might just be me, but I don't think this is proper tiger safety protocol. I'm not really surprised this happened.

I hope not, the tiger was just being a tiger. People that work with big cats know this stuff and I bet that guy did as well and probably just got careless and missed the signs the tiger was getting a bit too playful.

Something about Steve Irwin zoo and an animal attack happening there just screams "Saw this coming."

Even though everyone says they "saw it coming" regarding the stingray death coming, that's bullshit. People just don't get killed by stingrays. It was a freak occurrence.

At Irwin's zoo, animals don't get "put down" for doing what animals do.
