That really sucks! Just read the original thread - and it certainly would put me off doing business AT ALL with Tiger Direct.
The last company that pi$$ed me off big time was AOL - I used a free 45 day trial until I discovered I could not post to these forums using an AOL IP address.... so after 2 weeks of the free trial I telephoned to cancel the account.
Some 3 days later I received a letter confirming my cancellation - however, they billed me for 2 months after the 45 day trial period had ended!!!
When I eventually got thru telephone number hell and automatic prompts and spoke to a real person - they informed me that I had not cancelled the service - I would have loved to see the CS's face as I quoted the cancellation letter reference which was held in my hand
The moral of the story is that you should ALWAYS check your CC statement each and every month. Companies hope that you will neglect this simple and slightly time consuming item. It only takes 10 mins. I don't know about anybody else but at just under $24 for each month of AOL billing that was an hourly rate of $144 for checking a CC bill thats a lot more than my salary for sure
After the billing fiasco I will never use AOL or recommend them to anybody
Nice job done AOL
