Ticketbastard makes zero sense!

I can purchase tickets right now in advance for 8 bucks, but I'm hit with fees that make it 10.50. Or, I can pay at the Door for 10... however, I can use a CC with Ticketbastard.

is there any competition for online tickets yet?

without competittion, TB can bend you over as far as they like

Who do you think pays for the person answering your call, doing tech support on their computer, setting up the system for your purchase, printing the tickets, and packaging the tickets?

I only assume you mean movies ticket. Don't they also take CC? I payed with CC once or twice at the door before.

yeah they can do whatever they want. I baught tickets last year and the fees nearly doubled the total.

Plus if you wait to pay at the door there is always the chance they will be sold out. But that may not be an issue for whatever your going to see.

This is a charity event. I could give a sh!t less. No offense, but I'm over the age of 16, so I'm quite aware of what entails the cost of a product or service. However, this is a fvcking Charity concert, and Ticketbastard shouldn't rape people on fees. I guess not having a soul is a popular thing to do these days.

well think of it as paying 50 cents to be able to use a credit card and get your ticket early (not have to worry about them selling out).

I'm just saying Ticketmaster provides a service. There's no free lunch. I agree TM usually charges too much but they also generally provide alternative, cheaper ways of obtaining tickets (pay at the door, no service charge at venue box office, etc.). They were created to make money, not to provide cheap tickets for the public. They are soul-less. The concert could have choose to use a different ticketing method than TM. I'm quite certain the organization was aware of all charges that their customers would have to pay. Blame them, too.

Don't be silly. TB owns the market so they can do as they please. A little competition would be nice. For Knicks playoff tickets it actually cost more to print them at home myself then for them to ship them. WTF? About time they let you print them, too. I guarantee that it there had been some real competition we would have had such features year ago (and lower prices to boot).

I agree with that. They are a monopoly at this point and competition could help. I was just saying that the charity organization choose to deal with TM and knew the fees.

But, what if we do get competition. That doesn't always lead to lower prices. Get another company involved and prices might go down for a bit. But then, TM and the new company can both raises their prices equally.

I'm not for TM, but I just think they get blamed for many things that aren't their fault. Their nasty business practices are on the backend with venue agreements and things of that nature. I worked in the ticketing industry for several years and we were fortunate enough to keep TM out of town. They still don't service any venues in town.

I do have the choice to not go, but that choice seriously sucks. I'm all for Capitalism and all, but a monopoly or oligarchy isn't good for the entertainment business.

That's what I'm saying. There are other companies out there, but TM has for a long time structured venue contracts and promoter contracts so that use of another company is strictly prohibited. That is their real evil. Service charges I can usually deal with if given other alternatives (buying at venue for discount, etc.).
