LOL! you must be kidding or don't know anything to say something like that!

a 9600 pro waists geforce4 ti 4600 by as much as double fps with aa and af and is directx9 not like the old and slow ti4600 which is only directx8

check out this new review of all cards ,it shows even 9700 non pro beating nvidia's best card 5950fx ultra in all test using both aa and af in new and old games:

Alright noob, in this benchmark, it shows the two cards being exactly equal. Now tell me how the 9600 pro "waists" the 4600?

cindy22,

Did you read my post? Have you done your research? You are new to the forum, aren't you?

I don't consider my knowledge of computer hardware better than many other Anandtechies, but it must certainly be better than yours. 😉

dont bash somebody like that.. just tell them what they need to do different, not degrading.

Evdawg,

Did you read her post? Here is the comment that I did not like: "you must be kidding or don't know anything to say something like that!"

How am I suppose to take that?

Please, don't lecture me evdawg. You are a newbie, too, so maybe I should cut you some slack, too. By the way, you did notice the "wink" at the end of my post, right?

This is kind of a hollow victory as the 9600 Pro is too slow/weak to use it's DX9.
I wouldn't go that far. It's not like it's something like...oh...an FX5200.

Better yet would be to save another $50 and get a 9700/9800np/5900nu.
Now that I agree with. 🙂

That's true. 9600Pros aren't that BAD, they're just not that GOOD. I just can't see spending $150 on one when you can get so much more power for $200..
Happy new year, BFG. I picked up one of those new A64 3Ks, pushes my trusty 9800 pretty good.

i think the 9600XT is a good buy @ $150

yoda291....... A few questions for you.

#1 What are your system specs?
#2 Which apps/games do you run?
#3 Are you trying to decide between the two or thinking of upgrading from a ti4600 to a 9600Pro?

I'd have to say that being a "newbie" on one of the worst tech forums online doesn't mean that you are a "newbie" to the world of video cards.

??? Ok, ace! The egos echoing on Anandtech are far worse then some of "Newbie's" I've seen.

1. that's quality test was only for call of duty that shows 9600 pro slightly better than g4ti4600 with both aa and af

this benchmark

2. while in all other quality tests using both aa and af, 9600 pro beats g4ti4600 as much as double the score

quality benches

my point is 9600 pro or 9600xt overall is a faster, more future proof and better value than g4ti4600

the reason many people nowadays pay for mid range to high end range cards, are to be able to play games with aa and af at reasonable to good framerates not slow to reasonable framerates

I'm not trying to say 9600 pro or 9600xt is the fastest card out there, but it's faster than g4ti4600 with all the eye candy

cmaMath - I'm sorry if I offended you in any way , your right, after reading your post again I realized I skimmed through your post and missed some critical words , please accept my apologies .

peace, and happy new year

So wait, are you lecturing me now? Please dont tell me youre 17-18 guy who thinks hes all that because he has 1800 posts

.....posts doesnt mean anything, its immature to think that posts determine wether someone is knowledgable or not. Anyways now on to more mature things....

cindy22,

I am sorry if I offended you, too. I was really be sarcastic and that is why I showed the "wink" sign. It's no problem. I was more offended by the guy that chose to lecture me on how I should respond. By the way, I agreed with you in the first place: I too would pick the 9600. 🙂

Happy new years to you, too.

"??? Ok, ace! The egos echoing on Anandtech are far worse then some of "Newbie's" I've seen. "

I don't understand this travesty of a thought 😉

My implied proposition was that the old anandtechers seem to bash newbies and call into question their statements simply because they don't have a high post count-there can be many reasons for this-one that is applicable to my case is a deletion of my password and therefore a reset that I could never request and hence a new account-and there are many other conditions besides this one that contribute to a low post count even though the person might have been a member that posted regularly for years-but you pompous azzes (more than likely zit sprouting 18-23 year olds with little men disease) seem to myopically look beyond the attributes of the post straight to the posters count-and I've came to this conclusion exactly because of this attribute of this forum, along with a some of the character portraits of your oldtimer posters.

I've not seen a forum as sordid and judgmental as this one.
