I plan on buying the VisionTek Ti4400 for the system I am about to build, but after reading an article at Tom's Hardware(I'm sure you've probably read it), I'm a little uncertain. The article said most of the GeoForce 4 cards had unsharp and ghosting images, including the VisionTek card I want. Is that website run by idiots or something? I thought the GeoForce 4 cards were supposed to have excellent image clarity. Are most of the GeoForce cards really that bad? Also, what is the best Ti4400 in terms of noise and image clarity? Thanks for any replies.

Why, because they said something bad about the card you want to buy? They clearly state that the evaluation is subjective. I tend to believe their results are reasonable.

The guys over at Tom's have been known to hit the crack pipe from time to time, maybe it has started to effect their vision.
Nope, they didn't hit the crackpipe. I've just gone through 2 Gainward ti4600 and I'm having blurred text and ghosting. Enough that it gives me a headache. It was working fine for a couple weeks and then bam! This ghosting crap started. I'm not the only one either. I've read similar stories on various message boards with the G4. I'm about to go to best buy and buy a radeon 8500 dv. I am getting sick of returning G4's.
I have two Gainward Ti 4400 video cards and they are sharp as all hell on my 21" trinitron and 18" LCD on one system and a 21" sony on the other.
If you're getting ghosting, try changing your video cable with better sheilding. Or try pluggin in your monitor and computer to different breakers/outlets if possible.

Alright, maybe I was a little harsh with my words- sorry if I offended anyone.

Generally not easy to have PC and Monitor on seperate breakers, since most adjacent outlets are on the same breaker. Haveing them on the same circuit won't provide any isolation even if they are on different outlets.
This could cause noise, and blurriness, but ghosting is reflections on the line and is caused by either low signal level or poorly matched filtering on the card. My ghosting decreased somewhat when I removed some of the filtering components, so I suspect the latter.
The cabling I'm using I believe it's Belkin or something. It was their premium cable, quite expensive, and seems to be shielded well. The monitor is a Sony G520.
Moral of the story, 2D quality is subjective and will vary from monitor to monitor, cable to cable, and card to card. This is another reason to only buy from stores which have a good return policy.

It looks like it's the cabling on this one. Just plugged in another monitor ( The video cable is connected to the monitor) and the picture was fine. I knew it couldn't be my monitor because I spent a fortune buying it (NEC 22" flat screen) I need to go buy a monitor cable. Any brands I should look for?
Also, if it's a dual (or more) monitor setup, and they are using the same resolutions, try to see if you can use different refresh rates. It may be picking up noise from the other monitor. Or, get something to place in between them to cancel out some of the noise.
I just got an MSI Ti4400 the other day, I came from a Radeon card and the image quality and text crispness is identical. It probably depends on the exact card you get, some might be good, the others bad.
