Ti4400 gaming problems...

I'd really appreciate some help with my gaming setup. My system is as follows...

P4 1.6 @ 2.1
512 RAM
40 gig 7200 rpm
msi 845Ultra-ARU
Onboard sound (c-media)
realtek lancard
Win2k sp3

In the past, this has been a phat setup. And in my opinion, it should still be.

However, for about the last 3 months or so, I've had trouble with all of my games slowing down. Sometimes it seems fine, but then it will totally slow down. Warcraft 3 is a good example of this. I've read about the ti4400 being able to handle all the max settings, but when I have mine setup with medium settings, I'm getting significant slowdowns. I've tried different drivers for it, but didn't notice a change.

The only software that I would suspect having caused a problem would be Codestuff Starter. I did disable a few startup processes.

If you have an idea what could be causing this issue, any assistance would be appreciated.

I would say your onboard sound is what's slowing you down. Although your processor is uber and shouldn't have a problem i'd say that's what's doing it. My suggestion is to go borrow a soundcard from someone and try it again.

Funny you should say that...I've been trying to find better drivers for the sound for a while now with no avail. Its been my suspicion all along that it's not cutting the mustard. I'll give that a go and come back.

Thanks for the reply!! =)
