Ti 4400 Problem

I had just aquired a VisionTek Ti 4400 card. Installation went smooth and the card runs fine in 1x AGP, but when I attempt to use 4x AGP my monitor blinks and sometimes crashes my pc all together.

What I mean by "blinks" is that the screen will go black at a blink of an eye.

It's installed with an Athlon 1ghz on an Asus K7V. The previous AGP card was a Geforce 2 GTS that ran in 4x AGP with no problems.

I have the latest drivers for the card and updated BIOS..

Since the I see no blinking in 1x AGP what seems to be the problem?

Tried updating the chipset drivers? That might help, since you only stated that you updated only the video drivers.

Forgot to mention, that yes, I have updated chipset drivers for my motherboard. Installing the AGP drivers in normal yeilds 1x AGP mode where I see no problems at all; but using the Turbo install yeilds 4x performance, but that blinking problem occurs. Oddly enough the blinking problem never occurs when playing games.

Yeah it worked fine in two other machines

I resolved the problem though.. I was using AGP 2.x drivers, thinking it would be most compatible with my chipset, but instead I tried the current AGP 3.x drivers and the blinking is all gone.

I appreciate your effort Keitero
