would like to know if the fx5900 would make much of a difference over the ti4200 thinking of upgrading or would the fx5600 be a better upgrade.... not interested in a radeon at this time.....thanks

I don't want to point to the obvious, but are you at all interested in Half Life 2 and/or other upcoming directX 9 games? If so I'd lok at the various benchmarks floating around. You may regain interest in ATI's products 😉

why many people have been saying that difference between DX 8 and DX 8.1 and DX 9 are barely noticable

From one set of static screenshots? 😛

I'll wait to see things in motion. I expect things had better be a buttload better than that.

HL2 is not my game i'm a flight simulator freak FS02 and FS04 and they take some pretty good machines to their knees the ti4200 works pretty good BUT looking for better....

Yes fso4 is cpu testy but i'm running a p4 2.4 with 512 DDR what i'm looking for is a little better Quality...

That is the word, and not to mention prices will drop around that time.

Get a Sapphire 9800 NP OEM, flash it to pro (most work fine at PRO speeds), use it till the latest and gratest graphics card comes out. Then sell you're 9800 pro card in FS/FT and you're set.

No an fx5600 would not be a better upgrade--it would be a complete waste. A fx5900 would be a considerable upgrade, especially when you able aa and af.
