I know Ford is afraid of them competing with the Mustang bullocks, but they could make the Thunderbirds more of a sportscar, while the stang is meant to be a pony car.
i.e. the T-Bird would be like an M6 (although ideally lighter/smaller) and the Stang would be like Ford's M3 (rough analogy).
