What's the smart move? A thunderbird 800 on an abit Kt7 raid or asus ka7 or asus cusl2 and a p3 600 or 650e and overclock the price works out about the same.😕
 
Go for the T-Bird. When I bought my P3 600e a few months ago, I had the same philosophy as you, but it backfired. My coppermine never went above 720 (MS-6309 mobo, Thermaltake Golden Orb). Go for the processor that's certain to run at the speed you want it to. Learn from my mistake.
