Thunderbird Mail Client

Hello everyone. I am using Thunderbird and so far so good. I have one question though. When I am in the address book and write click on a contact and choose write, a new compose window appears, but the contact does not. I have to type in the actual email address.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I don't know, it works ok for me. Maybe reinstalling would help. You could also delete your profile, and let it rebuild it on reinstall(remember to backup the important bits).

I don't know. If you did the second install on a virgin system that never had Thunderbird, I'm not sure where to look. I keep the default options, so I haven't done anything special to make it work right.

Works for me too. I just highlight the contact name and click "write" and it starts a new message with the address in there. Usually, I don't even go into my address book though, I just click "write" and then type the first few characters of the name or email and then select it from the auto-complete drop down list of addresses.
