Thunderbird 0.7 now available

Thanks. I've been running it for a day or two now, but quite honestly, I can't tell the difference between Thunderbird 0.4 and this new one...
 
any real benefits over 0.5? Mostly all I'm looking for is better filters - atm I've ticked "delete from POP3 server" (which appeared to do nothing on it's own) and also "delete", and what's happening is it's downloading the emails and then filtering and deleting, no way to not download them at all and just delete off the server?

edit: do i install over 0.5 (er, but into a different folder like it says) or uninstall first? will it remember ALL settings?
 
0.7 has a a better ui / icons and better spam filters. The bugs you have should be worked out.

All settings and mail are stored in your profile, unless you changed the path.

I uninstalled 0.6 and reinstalled 0.7 and was fine. I also deleted the "rules" for the spam filter as said on their website.
 
I had 0.6, and installed 0.7 right over the top. No problems.

I tried to find the changelog, but wasn't able to. Like Sid59 said, I'd bet the big changes are in the background, no the UI.
 
OK I take it then uninstalling doesnt delete the profile? sorry to be a PITA but one of the email accounts requires some funny settings and a generated password that i keep forgetting 😱

my "teeen fu|<" filter is deleting about 50 messages a day from the same retarded dyslexic spammer who seems to have no end of accounts :disgust:
