i have a athlon xp right now, if i went out and bought another one, could I just put those in there, or do I need something special.

You would need an exact stepping matched pair, and then you would need to do a bridge mod to turn them into Athlon MPs

so exact same processors and do a bridge? is there like a website that explains this?

If you don't have the board already the Tyan Tiger MPX is quite a bit cheaper and doesn't require registered RAM. The Thunder K7 needs at least one piece of registered RAM to boot. The Tiger can use registered or unregistered, but needs registered RAM to use the maximum amount.
