Question Thumbdrive properties & boot type

Just a few minor Qs about thumbdrives:

1) Is there anywhere in properties of a usb stick that I can find it's "boot type" - MBR or GPT? I've surfed around and cannot find anything about this.

2) Also, wondering if an application needed more than 1GB on a usb drive to create it's install or emergency media, but then only used 550MB, should I be able to copy those files to a smaller thumbdrive & still have it work? Generally, does that sound feasible?

Thanks,

Mac

If you run the Command prompt, then type in diskpart, then list disk you will see any drives on the system and a * next to any that are GPT. Look at the sizes of each so you can be sure to find the flash drive in question.

Can't see a reason you can't copy to a smaller drive and still use but have not tried it myself. But - smaller than 1GB? Any drive smaller than that might be so old I would second guess trusting it w/ anything important.
