Yeah it is the loudest noise coming from his rig for sure, even with his 5770 on high fan speed the HD dominates in sound.

the 7200.10 is loud, the 7200.12 series is much much quieter, maybe look into one of them.

so upon hearing all these complaints about how loud these drives are, i got out one of my 7200.10 drives (i have 3, a 500gb, and 2 400gb), and plugged it in. i forgot how much louder these drives were than my spinpoint F1s im using now for storage. glad im offloading them in a dif box now lmao. i never really noticed it when i was using them regularly because my rig was a lot louder back then as well, i got really picky about noise right around the time i got my F1s

Just a few years ago Seagate's were the quietest drives you could get ....

The complaint for these loud drives are on the 7200.10 models, they're an older model. As others have said 7200.12 is must quieter.
