It was OK not great. The best album of 94 was Superunkown!!!
Yeah...I got to see them perform Pillar of Davidson a few years back...it was awesome hearing Ed really get into it.Originally posted by: mpitts
The entire album is excellent.
My favorites that weren't released are "Waitress" and "Pillar of Davidson".
How about "Death of a Dictionary"? Ever heard that one? LOLOriginally posted by: Uppsala9496
I actually prefer Mental Jewelry over Throwing Copper.

Superunknown was great, indeed, but it was a hard rock album. Throwing Copper was excellent in its own right. Lightning Crashes was the big hit, but there were some other great songs on the album. I Alone, Iris, All Over You, and my fav, Selling the Drama.

My personal favorite was Sh!t Town. They were referring to their home town in PA....I forget the exact name. Great song though.
Soundgarden was similar to Live in that Superuknown could never be surpassed as Throwing Copper could not. Despite Soundgarden breaking up long ago, Chris Cornell's projects just don't live up to the days of Superunknown.
As for Pearl Jam, I agree, Ten was definitely their best album, however, Vs. and Vitalogy were right up there. After the third disc I think they lost a lot of their momentum. Still a great band though....seen them twice live.
Personally, I think Alice in Chains takes the cake for me with regard to bands of the 90's. Jar of Flies is the best selling EP EVER. 7 songs of pure brilliance. Not to mention Dirt, Facelift, and the Title album sounding incredible and way ahead of their time even for the early to mid-90's.
RIP Layne Staley!!!

I love all those PJ albums, but I think Yield might be my favorite. And also I agree Jar of Flies is incredible. I have it on vinyl. Trust me you need to hear Rotten Apple on Vinyl. The intro so freaking awesome.

Yeah, I agree, Yield is a pretty good album as well. I guess it's just not as nostalgic to me as the first three.
Where did you find a vinyl copy of Jar of Flies?? I would kill for one of those copies. AIC is one of my favorite bands of all time. I couldn't imagine the Unplugged album on Vinyl either. That would be friggin sweet.
