Bought in summer 2022 for $1 each.
Great to hotspot sims that wont allow you to hotspot in your phone.

2nd box is unopened.
Bought 2 because last time i had a hotspot device (pre-covid), i accidentally destroyed the sim pin connections.

Luckily i never needed to hotspot again till i bought these 2.
Switched phone provider to Boost unlimited data but no hotspot. (Not paying an extra $10/month to hotspot)

I save the boxes until I know the thing works and isn't going to be a quick RMA. I saved the boxes for my stereo for years as repacking it was the safest way to move it back and forth between home and college and beyond.

i saved the dell 15.4" laptop packaging because I bought a 4 yr complete replacement warranty if it breaks.
My plan was for it to 'accidentally' drop from a tall height at 3.5 yrs.

beginning yr 3, i was doing more vacation traveling so bought a 11.6" laptop.
It was so much better than the 15.4" that i stopped using the 15.4" and forgot to take advantage of the replacement warranty.

Out in my garage, I have the box for my 65" Panasonic Plasma TV that I bought in Jan. 2014. The TV is snugly inside said box.

I just dismantled my ancient 1155 pc built in early 2011. Each component has returned to its original box...and is in storage until I decide to take them to the E-waste disposal.

No, I will not. I often resell my old devices when I get something new, and people like to have the original retail packaging. For some buyers, it helps relay that you take good care of your items (which yes, I very much do.) Phone boxes take up hardly any space, I tossed my current one in my small box of assorted cables. It's out of the way, but I know right where it is.

I use to save EVERY box from PC build parts, stack em and pile them into the box for the case. I always had a basement or storage space to keep it in though. Where I live now is pretty limited on extra space, including storage. The box for my 32" LG monitor and my 55" Samsung TV are in a friend's basement because as you said...the original boxes are the easiest way to pack for a possible move.

These are the only larger boxes I've kept lately...

Kitty condo. I did this after I got rid of my couch, which she hid under often. She loves the replacement though. Honestly I've been tempted to get them out of here but she's in and on it all the time so I've been hesitant, lol.

Still running win7.

I used to alternate every year upgrading gpu or CPU/mobo because of gaming.
Stopped in 2011 because everything was a rehash or sequel to the decade before

Once an item is past the point of being returned as defective, I will only keep boxes for heavy, fragile stuff like large displays unless the box itself is big/sturdy enough to be useful for other things.

This is especially important with hefty/awkward curved displays and extremely thin transport-averse OLEDs.

Dude...I have a 3 car garage that I have paths that I can BARELY walk through because of all the crap I (or my wife) has in there...Fortunately, my truck is too long to fit in the garage even it it was empty....

We've been SUPPOSED to have a garage sale ever since we moved in here 4 years ago...yet never have. HOPEFULLY, THIS will be the year.
