three SVCHOST.EXE

is that too many? or is it normal? I am running windows xp pro with sp2 and all latest updates.

Sometimes windows xp cause some pauses or delay that is annoying me since clean install last Tuesday.


Help!!!!

go to a command prompt

use the following command: TASKLIST /SVC

You'll be able to see what each of the svchost.exe's are being run for

Ok I think I found what cause windows xp pauses alot is Google desktop I had to uninstall it and it seem ok now. I hope so

I thought, what a usefull command but it will not run from cammand prompt on my xp sp2.

TASKLIST /SVC

That is the prompt from inside xp by way of start menu.

From the looks of your signature, you run XP Home, correct?
The command isn't available for XP Home.
