Hi, I posted this in the general board and people suggested I post here. ^_^
I recently got a new system, and with an 8500LE 128mb. It's by some kind of third party. The label on the back says:

Radeon 8500LE DDR V/D/VO
P/N 1024-9149-2B-5A
S/N 241014395
PCB# 35-F149-GO-20

It's clocked at 250 Core and 200 RAM (Crappy! >.< ) and there's a jumper on it which can be used to switch between NTSC and PAL. Can anyone tell me which board this is and who built it?

My second question is what kind of ram does it use? The ram is not BGA packaged (Crappy again) and is labelled:

SAMSUNG 238
K4D28163HD-TC50

Does this mean 5.0ns? And how far do you think I could overclock this?

Third question is do you think I could flash the bios to the one that the built by ATI Radeon8500LE uses?

Thank you very much.

The PAL-NTSC jumper is for tv-out in different regions.

Also yes your ram is 5.0ns. 200mhz is fairly high for 5.0ns ram you could maybe get 220mhz safely over the long term without ramsinks.

About flashing, now 250/250 would be too high an overclock for the ram.

If I were you i'd sell it on eBay, and then buy the $80 Radeon LE on Newegg thats clocked 250/275.

Sadly, selling and buying a new one is not an option. This piece of crap gives me about the same performance as the 64mb OEM clocked at 250/250. :(

I just overclocked it to 275/250. No artifacts in Artifact Tester 5 "hardcore" directx7 testing, and no visible artifacts in UT2003. Does this mean I have some kind of crazy 5.0ns ram that can be overclocked really far?

I had the same card as you and I did 300/275 without a hitch. That's as far as it will go. :)

Yeah, if it's really 5.0ns ram, it goes really far! There's a strange problem though. The performance is the same overclocked or non-overclocked. I got it up to 300/250. No difference in 3Dmark or UT2003. With a lower overclock, same thing. What's wrong...
