I've been calling the Republicans what they are for a while now. Evil. Exactly like many other populations in world history who acted exactly the same way. This is not rocket science. It's been written about in history countless times. People are dumb if they don't learn from history that has repeated itself over and over and over again.

It's not that hard folks. It's plainly obvious, it's not even a debate at this point.

Three-quarters of Republicans back Trump being ‘dictator for a day’

It's official, Republican base is clearly anti-Constitution.
I bet they would call it Constitution Day, to celebrate Drumpf's "restoration" of our great Republic.
On a related note, I believe the last cries of the Republic were "Hail Ceaser!"

This is an important point. When dictators take over it's rare for them to come out and pull a Palpatine thing where they are just like 'muahaha I am the dictator now!'

As you allude to they often cast themselves as the defenders of the republic, freedom, whatever. A dictatorship that ends US democracy will probably look a lot like Russia's dictatorship. They still have a congress, they still have elections, etc., it's just that none of them matter anymore. Like I've said before with the 1/6 coup plot - when the House coronated Trump despite him losing the election Republicans would have cast this as the Congress stepping in to resolve electoral uncertainty just as the Constitution intended.

All he'd need is a day. The usual suspects will obviously dismiss this as just casual banter, but he and the Republicans who support this are absolutely telling us who they are. And the usual suspects wouldn't really have a problem with it, regardless of their "patriotism".

Ironic considering palpatine never did that either. He literally delivered himself as a solution to the floundering Republic backed by the religious fanaticism of ages past.

Modern Republicans wish they were as nuanced and capable as what's basically a cartoon villain.

And yet we have people saying we shouldn't be concerned that its just the small part of the Republicans that even support him.

Also, the same people pulling the "I don't support Turmp, even though I've voted for him twice, but I super duper swearsies won't vote for him again because of this!" Wherein they'll gloat about voting for him a 3rd time if he wins, and doubly so once the cleansing he'll try to enact begins.

Welp, we had a good run, I suppose.

Keep your heads low and start thinking about scrubbing your social media if you have any anti-GOP rhetoric on there. Wouldn't want to be labeled a subversive.

On April fools day Biden should repeat that.

Or at least the WH press secretary should
