They absolutely do, when I meet a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe or someone with some kind of extreme prejudice I like to try and get to the bottom of why they feel that way, asking them why yields no results as they just spout their prejudice, it requires a more in depth look at them personally until you find the underlying issue.

For some it's because they are secretly gay and hate themselves, so it makes them a homophobe, some people have been hurt personally by a person of a different race and so hate that race irrationally.

You and Mongoose are the first xenophobes I've come into contact with so I thought I'd try and understand why...

I think I do, I came into this forum not knowing you, not having any bias about where you are from, who you are in your life, how you feel about things, then I (along with many other members of the forum) became aware of your prejudices. I'm about as objective in this subject as I can be.

No genius. Actually, there wouldn't have been a riot at all in the U.S. because those attempting to steal or do damage to others' property or personal harm to people would likely have been shot by said victims, especially if the riot broke out in a right to carry state.

You disarmed cowards keep clinging to this idea that you can bargain with evil or mischief. But sometimes the only thing a thug understands is a 45 pointed right at his chest. All that damage and destruction...totally unacceptable. That is someone's livelihood and personal property that was lost! To dismiss it like it's no big deal, only property damage, misses the point entirely. It shouldn't have happened and maybe if the penalty for this behavior was potentially death, the miscreants would have thought twice before rioting, firebombing, and stealing.

If the rioters were armed too then everyone would be on equal footing again, the shop keepers wouldn't have the upper hand and people would have rioted and died.

It's a felony to commit a crime (like rioting) while in possession of a firearm. Those criminal rioters wouldn't break the law.

Regardless of what passport he's carrying around he has the soul of a butthurt thirdworlder. All his posts are about propping up his butthurt ego. He focuses 90% of his rage on the UK because he's clearly obsessed with his ancestral land's conquest by the British Empire. He can't stand that many people see India largely as a dirty, backwards, third-world country. Therefore he's constantly trying to act like Europe is on the same level as India or other third world countries. And if he concedes India is behind its only because of the evil British. But it's not just about the British, it's also about people of European ancestry in the US. When people discuss whether immigrants are being properly integrated into the US, he starts talking nonsensically about multi-generation white Americans not being well-integrated. He also gets off on the the fact that people of European descent have low birth rates. He mocks people of European descent in America for having problems with ADD. So ultimately it's not just about xenophobia it seems to be about racism towards his own countrymen unfortunately.

And I don't believe for a second he's spent any meaningful time in Europe. He claims he was the victim of racism in Europe (maybe on a trip?) which may or may not be true but pretty much everything he says about Europe suggests he has no actual experience living there.

It's too bad because it's pretty rare for immigrants in America (of Indian descent or otherwise) to have such a complex about their background. COW is a bizarre and unique loon and it would definitely be good if we could help him get to the bottom of his warped worldview but he doesn't like to share more details.

No, I was pointing out the flaw in counting on laws to keep criminals from having guns.

In reality, we've seen riots here in America before. By and large, middle class and wealthy people own far, far more firearms than the poor. When the poor rioted, the poor got their asses shot off by middle class business owners protecting their businesses. No business owners were harmed.

You have to consider that these thugs in the UK (and anywhere else) go for the path of least resistance. They're not going to get in a gun fight to steal shit even if they happen to have a gun. Instead they'll steal things that aren't protected by people with guns.

If that weren't the case, don't you think armored cars and federal treasury department currency printing offices in the US would be getting attacked right and left?

Well no because the armed people cause the police to be armed then one side gets a bigger gun, and so does the other and so on and so on. If neither side have guns then it's better all round.

And somehow I've yet to see someone launch a cruise missile into an armored car.... And besides, the people guarding armored cars and federal cash storage are only armed with handguns.

The utopia you dream about will NEVER EVER come about. There are bazillions of weapons in this world. And when guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns. Seriously, it's so simple even a child can understand it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of all guns. IMPOSSIBLE. And a criminal by definition, is one who breaks the law.

Disarming law abiding citizens simply gives the advantage to armed criminals. And the police are a reactive force anyway...arriving to clean up the mess after the crime has already been committed.

Check out how many people have been shot during the UK riots.

Is it possible to disarm everyone? No. Is it possible to disarm people to the point where the chance of seeing someone with a gun is remote? Yes.

Why cant you fuckwits understand that UK guns laws work for the UK and US gun laws work for the US.

They wouldn't work if transposed. There are too many guns in the wild in the states to outlaw them now, and there are so few criminals in the UK with guns that it would be stupid to flood the country with them.

Good point, but I still maintain that (even thought it would be practically impossible to completely remove guns) they should be banned in America.
